Social media optimization (SMO) was originally designed to move traffic from social media sites, bookmarking sites and social networking sites. However, SMO is now extremely correct not simply because social networking sites has grown but because SMO also enhances SEO performance. Good SMO will move traffic from direct social site referrals and search engines. SMO, or Social Media Optimization, is a concept whose central idea is to use social media to grow a brand's digital strategy.
